Director

Angela
DeMello
Born in South Africa, Angela began her ballet training
at the age of six. Receiving a scholarship, she
travelled to Britain to study at the Royal Ballet
School; firstly at the Lower School White Lodge
in Richmond Park and then at the Upper School in
West London.
Angela graduated to the Royal Ballet Company Covent
Garden and was promoted through the ranks to Senior
Soloist. In 1991 Ivan Nagy invited her to join the
English National Ballet as Principal dancer, there
performing roles such as Swanilda in Ronald Hynd's
Coppelia, Bianca in John Cranko's Taming
of the Shrew, Snow Queen in Ben Stevenson's
The Nutcracker and many other varied roles
in the repertoire. Angela has worked world renowned
choreographers and teachers including, Sir Frederick
Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Dame Ninette De Valois,
Sir Peter Wright, Glen Tetley, Rudolf Nureyev, David
Bintley, Ben Stevenson, Michael Corder, Wayne Sleep,
Mauro Begonzetti, Wayne Eagling, Vincente Nebrada,
Derek Deane, Ronald Hynd and Natalia Makarova, and
she has danced with Nureyev, Baryshnikov, Dowell,
Wall, Sleep, Fonteyn, Sibley, Park, Collier, Mason,
Seymour, Guillem and Ferri. Angela performed all
the major works in the repertoire, including classics
The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker,
Giselle, La Bayadere and the modern full length
ballets such as Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella
and Manon.
Angela appeared as "the dancer" in a docufilm, Secret
Lives, which was about the life of Margot Fonteyn.
She features in the Royal Ballet videos of Galanteries,
Still Life at the Penguin Café, Gloria and
the aforementioned classics. Her created roles include:
Sons of Horus, Still Life at the Penguin Café,
Galanteries, Consort Lessons, The Planets, Fleeting
Figures, Xcentricities, Four Seasons, Mayerling,
Isadora, and Rhapsody, which was specially
choreographed by Sir Frederick Ashton to celebrate
Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother's 80th birthday.
After studying for a BSc Honours degree in Sport
and Performance Therapy and Psychology she returned
to the dance studio. Angela has taught at Reanimates,
Urdang and Pineapple Studios in London. She also
worked in the wig and wardrobe departments at ENB
and toured with Jonathan Miller's production of
Tamerlano for the English Concert in 2001.
Since 2002 Angela has been employed in Italy teaching,
giving masterclasses and choreographing as well
as staging and rehearsing productions of Swan
Lake and Sleeping Beauty. |

Anthony
Wright - ARAD (dip) PDTC
At the age of ten Anthony received an annual scholarship
from the Royal Academy of Dancing to enable training
with Louise Browne OBE, FRAD. At sixteen he began
training at The Royal Ballet School Upper School,
London.
By 1969 Anthony (professionally known as Conway)
was performing with The Royal Ballet Touring Company
and joined The Royal Ballet, Covent Garden in 1971.
In addition, he danced with Ballet for All (an educational
dance programme, that toured throughout the United
Kingdom, intended to illustrate the origins of classical
ballet and its progressions to modern dance forms).
He worked with many great teachers and choreographers
including Sir Frederick Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan
and Jerome Robbins.
After retiring from performing in 1982 Anthony enrolled
in The Professional Dancer's Teaching Course at
Royal Academy of Dancing. In 1983 he became Ballet
Master at Associação de Ballet, Rio de Janeiro,
teaching at Escola Estadual de Dança, Ballet Dalal
Achcar. Anthony instructed on the teachers course
at the Faculdade da Cidade and also established
an outreach programme for boys at a local orphanage.
On his return to England Anthony taught for the
Yorkshire Ballet Scholarship Centre in York, later
becoming director. He has also taught at various
other schools in the region.
From 1989 to1997 Anthony was engaged at the London
Contemporary Dance School as Ballet Tutor and Lecturer
on the degree course. He was invited to the Showa
Academia Musicae, Tokyo, Japan by Sir Peter Wright,
and between 1997 and 1999 Anthony was responsible
for the establishment and administration of a two
year "finishing course" to prepare young dancers
for entry to professional companies. This was a
pioneering project for Japan.
Since 2000 Anthony has been working in Italy teaching
for various schools in the Emiglia Romagna and Le
Marche regions and has been instrumental in the
opening of the new studios for L'Etoile in Urbania.

Erin Holt
- Conditioning,
Contemporary & Ballet
Ms. Holt studied with and performed for choreographers and companies such as the Martha Graham Company, Joffrey Ballet, Utah Repertory Ballet and more. She has appeared on educational and commercial television, videos and theatrical productions in the Untied States and she is an award-winning choreographer.
Ms. Holt has been teaching Modern / Contemporary Dance and Classical Ballet for over 25 years and in 1987; Ms. Holt founded California DanceArts, located in Los Angeles, California, where students are trained in a variety of dance styles with classical ballet at its core. Ms. Holt is a certified dance educator and a Posture Alignment Specialist from Egoscue Motion Therapy. She is certified to teach ballet and conditioning Placement Technique and has since established herself as a United States representative for the method.
She is also the Artistic Director of California Theatrical Ballet, a United States performing contemporary ballet company based in Los Angeles, which recently debuted Ms. Holt’s choreography in Europe. Ms. Holt has become a frequent guest teacher and choreographer for ballet programs in the United States and Europe.

Christopher Tudor
Christopher trained at London Contemporary Dance School securing scholarships from Paul Clarke Memorial Fund and Cosmopolitan Dancer of the Year. His teachers included Viola Faber and Jane Dudley.
He went on to dance with London Contemporary Dance Theatre under the direction of Robert Cohan and with Richard Alston Dance Company where he later became assistant to the Artistic Director.
He has choreographed works for the stage as well as for film and television and has directed several Baroque Operas.
Christopher has a busy teaching schedule and regularly teaches Rambert Dance Company, Scottish Dance Theatre and Diversions Dance Company as well as at Arts Educational School and Millennium Dance 2000 where he is Deputy Head of Contemporary Dance.
He is Artistic Director of Bridgend Youth Dance and recently took them to perform at Wales Millennium Centre where he is an Associated Artist.
Christopher teaches a well structured technique class based in the Cunningham style but with a stronger emphasis on weight and flow.

Josephine Holling - ARAD
Josephine trained at White Lodge and the Royal Ballet Upper School. She graduated into the Royal Ballet Company at the age of 17.
Whilst with the company she performed all the major classical ballets both in the UK and on international tours. The range of repertoire that she performed extended to include works such as Grosse Fugue and Septet Extra by Hans Van Manen to Balanchine’s Allegro Brilliante.
Following her performing career, Josephine retrained to become an examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance and commenced teaching extensively.
In 1990 she was engaged as Artist-In-Education for Birmingham Royal Ballet as well as ballet mistress to the Junior and Senior Associates of the Royal Ballet School in Birmingham. Josephine held the post of Dance Director for the Dance School of Scotland before joining the teaching staff at English National Ballet School and Millennium Dance 2000.
Josephine is often sought after to teach worldwide, and her most recent engagements have been in Italy and Japan.

Erin Lamont -
Jazz / Musical Theatre and Hip Hop
Erin Lamont originally hails from Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.A. in Dance and a B.B.A in Marketing. Erin began her choreography career in college, creating works for annual departmental concerts. At 21, she independently produced, choreographed, and directed her first dance concert. The series sold out every show.
Immediately after graduating, Erin was hired by Anita Mann Productions and worked as a dancer on Holland America Line. From there she moved to Los Angeles where she is currently an established dancer, choreographer, and model. Her credits include; Nike, Puma, Vidal Sassoon, Wella, ABC, Disney, ESPN, Playboy, and Wyndham Resorts.
Erin is also on faculty as a jazz instructor at the world renowned EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, and faculty on the legendary Hoctors Dance Convention.
She has choreographed for Skechers, Norwegian Cruise Lines, FW Production’s live spectacular Jambalaya, in Nassau Bahamas, 2006 L.A Design Week, XANADU Live!, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the Music Video Production Awards, The LA Clippers, EMI Recording Artist Natalia, and ESPN halftime shows for the Alamo, Emerald and Champs Sports Bowls. Her guest artist work continues to span the globe with trips to Tokyo and Sydney already in line for spring of 2008.
Erin is also the associate creative director for Los Angeles’ highly acclaimed dance entertainment company, FUSION entertainment.

Jazz and Musical Theatre

Daniel Crossley
Daniel was born in Southport, England. He trained at The London Studio Centre where he studied Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Acting, and Singing. On the completion of his training he was awarded the prestigious Sheila O’ Neil cup for the most outstanding all-rounder.
He has worked extensively in theatre, television and musicals, both in London’s West End and on tour in Europe. Most notable credits are CATS: New London Theatre, FAME: Cambridge Theatre as well as in Oslo Norway, the original cast of FOSSE: Prince Of Wales Theatre and also the original cast of CHICAGO: Adelphi Theatre. European tours include SONG AND DANCE and SOULS IN MOTION. He has also performed in Rep with A CHORUS LINE: Sheffield Crucible, TWELFTH NIGHT: West Yorkshire Playhouse and ABIGAIL’S PARTY: Northcott Theatre Exeter.
Daniel has in recent years concentrated on pursuing acting roles alongside roles in musical theatre. This has resulted in seasons at The Royal National Theatre, Regents Park Open Air Theatre, the Sheffield Crucible, and The West Yorkshire Playhouse.
On television Daniel has appeared in Doctors and the Last Enemy for the BBC, and Coronation Street for Granada. His film appearances to date include: BEHIND THE PLAY, SOUNDROOM and TRAVELLERS.
The past seven years have seen Daniel teaching Jazz and musical theatre in many schools and colleges throughout Britain. These include: The London Studio Centre, Millennium Dance 2000, The English National Ballet School, the Hammond School, Urdang Academy, Bodywork, Colin’s Performing Arts and the Dance School of Scotland.
His range of influences from Bob Fosse to more contemporary and commercial styles means that he also has been a regular teacher on summer and Easter courses at London Studio Centre, BBO at White Lodge, Arts Educational and English National Ballet School.

|
Tina
Krasevec
Tina is currently part of the Contemporary Dance
Technique faculty at The Laban Centre teaching on
the BA and CAT one year programme. She is also rehearsal
director and dance mistress with Shift Youth Dance
Company at the Place in London.
In 2004 she completed her training as an instructor
in Pilates for both equipment and matwork at the
Trevor Blount Studio. Freelance, she teaches contemporary
technique, repertoire, Pilates and runs creative
workshops in and around Europe.
Tina trained at London Contemporary Dance School
at The Place, graduating with a first class BA degree
in July 2000. She has performed around the world
with various dance companies notably Birmingham
Rep, Smallpetitklein Dance Company, Dance Theatre
Red, Blue Delta Dance Company and her own collaborative
company, Slapdash. Tina has worked with renouned
choreographers such as Richard Alston, Charles Linehan,
Jonathan Lunn, Sue MacLennan and Wayne McGregor.

Andrew
Higgs
Andrew studied composition and piano at Chetham's
School of Music in Manchester and at the Royal Academy
of Music in London.
He works principally as a ballet and contemporary
dance accompanist. He currently plays on a regular
basis for the Royal Academy of Dance, London Studio
Centre and London Contemporary Dance School at The
Place.
He was musical director for the UK tour and subsequent
London-run of David Wood's popular children's show
The BFG.
Andrew was also engaged as musical director and
pianist for Sleep No More in 2003 and The
Firebird Ball in 2005, two major productions
by the theatrical company Punchdrunk, creators of
the National Theatre's sellout success Faust.

Phillip
Feeney
Phillip Feeney of London Contemporary Dance School
and Shaun Holmes of London Studio
Centre also join us on the music staff.
Philip studied composition at Cambridge, and subsequently
at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Most
noted for his work in Ballet and Dance, he has worked
as pianist with many companies, including Northern
Ballet Theatre, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Rambert
Dance Company, White Oak Project and the Martha
Graham Company. His long-standing association with
Northern Ballet Theatre has resulted in scores for
eight ballets, including four full-length productions,
most notably Christopher Gable's Dracula.
Collaborations with choreographer, Didy Veldman,
have produced Greymatter (Rambert Dance
Company), I Remember Red (Cullberg Ballet),
Track (Scottish Dance Theatre) and Outsight
(Gulbenkian Ballet). Other works include Manoevres
for English National Ballet, and Adam Cooper's Les
Liaisons Dangereuses (Tokyo, 2005), and following
the success of his score for Michael Keegan-Dolan's
critically acclaimed Gisell! e for the
Dublin Theatre Festival (2003), he has recently
written the music for Fabulous Beast's triumphant
Barbican season of The Bull.

Shaun Holmes
Shaun has been working with English National Ballet for many years & regularly plays for touring companies such as San Francisco, Cullberg & Dance theatre of Harlem. Recently he has been working with English National Opera & the Royal Ballet Company Covent Garden.
In musical theatre he was audition & rehearsal pianist on the Royal National Theatre production of Carousel choreographer Sir Kenneth Macmillan, Director Nicholas Hytner & also in the West End production of The Pyjama Game Directed by Simon Callow & choreographed by David Bintley.
In contemporary dance Shaun has long been associated with Rambert Dance & has accompanied numerous touring groups & small ensembles.
He constantly works abroad in Japan, Korea, Thailand & throughout Europe in particular in Italy where he worked with Aterballetto including on a national tour.
Shaun has been repetiteur to Dame Alicia Markova, Natasha Makarova & Viviana Durante.
In 2003 Shaun was commissioned to write a report on the Music Department of the Royal Academy of Dance which was well received.
His acclaimed CD. of music for ballet class made in collaboration with Jacquelin Barrett teacher to the graduate girls of the Royal Ballet School is in use throughout the ballet world.
In 2005 Shaun was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts.
Shaun Holmes is a free-lance pianist specialising
in dance & the performing arts. Presently, he is
the Musicians' Schedule Co-ordinator at the London
Studio Centre responsible for commissioning some
250 hours of work per week. He is also the longest
serving pianist at Pineapple Dance Centre where
he has worked with all the major teachers for the
last 20 years |
